Over the last month I have launch major changes to our master plans for Thurrock, in Purfleet, Grays and Tilbury each are very different but together will deliver on our promises to make Thurrock the best place to work, live and play.

Starting with Purfleet, we now have a new partner and construction will start on the £1 billion project by the spring next year including new schools, 2800 homes and a town centre that has been missing for too long. We now have very ambition plan to make Grays a major Civic centre for the wider area and a night time economy that will make the town centre a destination we all want to live in or visit.

Finally, the area I am most excited about is Tilbury for the first time in over two decades it’s a Conservative Council that setting out major plans to overhaul Tilbury and give it some love with new homes, a regenerated town centre and new hospital services We have been asked by a Labour Councillor ”why do you keep banging on about Tilbury when there are no votes there for the Conservatives” this just show us how Labour think, they take your vote for granted, while we will do what’s right.

Doing the right thing is what leadership is and the plans I have set out will make improves to these areas that are badly needed. Let’s never forget, Labour always play self-interested pollical games and leave it to the Conservatives take the right actions.
