A teenager from Corringham has been given 40 hours community service and made to pay £585 in compensation after he stole a laptop.
Kye Pasquale, 19, a landscape gardener of no fixed abode, appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court yesterday, after he was arrested by police the previous day.
He stood in court charged with stealing a laptop, being in possession of cannabis and failure to attend a court summoning for the aforementioned offences.
For stealing the laptop, Pasquale was order to pay £585 compensation, and for being in possession of cannabis and his failure to surrender himself to the court, he was given 40 hours of unpaid work.
He was arrested after Essex Police put out an appeal for Mr Pasquale which had been active since April.
