A teenager arrested on suspicion of murdering Kevin Malthouse has been released under investigation.
The 18-year-old was arrested on Wednesday morning and was the third man to be detained in connection with the attack.
Father-of-one Kevin Malthouse, 24, was stabbed in the chest during a knife attack in Blackshots Lane, Grays on July 1.
Two men have been charged with his murder.
Jack Taylor, 18, of Oakley Close, Grays, has denied the charge and will stand trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on November 20.
Dusan Samardzija, 22, of Romford, will enter a plea at Chelmsford Crown Court on October 16.
