Thurrock Adult Community College is celebrating after receiving a positive report from Ofsted inspectors.

The Community College based in Richmond Road, Grays, has received a ‘Good’ rating following an inspection in June.

Inspectors were impressed with the range of activities and courses available.

The college were also praised for their development of close partnerships with social support agencies and with employers to provide purposeful pre-employment training to help people get into work.

Ofsted singled out that as a result of focused, robust management activities, staff communication and tutors’ understanding of learners, the college has ensured that they have maintained good teaching and learning where, as a result, a very high proportion of learners on all courses succeed, improving their life chances and raising career expectations.

Councillor for Education and Health, Cllr James Halden, welcomed the report: “I am thrilled for the team at TACC for achieving their ‘Good’ rating.

“The college is an important part of the education mix in Thurrock and life-long learning is something to be encouraged for people of all ages.”

Ofsted commented that learners were eager and enthusiastic, growing in confidence as they learn new knowledge and skills.

College Principal, Jaki Bradley said: “We are very pleased that Ofsted has confirmed our hard work acknowledged - we also appreciate that there are always areas that we can improve and we are continually striving to do this.

"The external scrutiny such as inspections is helpful in giving us pointers against national standards”.

TACC has a wide range of skills courses, where you can learn something new.
