A spokesperson for Thurrock Council said: "Thurrock Council will always consider and assess a request for measures which are intended to improve road safety.
"The assessment will consider safety, visibility and access and if approved, a public notice is released to enable all residents, businesses and stakeholders an opportunity to comment.
"All views are considered before any decision is made and implemented."
The restrictions are all in residential areas and some roads will have more than one set of double yellow lines placed if the proposal goes ahead.
