The funeral of Quhey Saunders is due to take place today, with a large procession moving between South Ockenden and Stanford-le-Hope.
Essex Police are advising motorists to expect traffic in the area.
They said: "Essex Police would like to advise motorists that we expect traffic disruption on various major roads throughout South Ockendon and Stanford-le-hope on Thursday, August 3.
“A large funeral procession is expected to take place from approximately 1pm in the afternoon. The procession is due to move along Easingway, South Ockendon and make its way to Wharf Road, Stanford-le-hope.
“This procession will follow a funeral, which is expected to take place at approximately 11.30am and will be attended by a large number of people.
“Essex Police will be making visible patrols during this time with extra officers posted to the area.
“We would like to thank affected motorists in advance for their patience and co-operation.”
The procession is expected to end around 2pm at Stanford-le-Hope cemetary in Wharf Road.
Quhey Saunders died in June this year after being struck on the head with a shovel.
