A woman has been left with a potentially life-changing injury after a motorbike crash yesterday evening.

Police are appealing for information following the crash in the Manorway, Corringham, where the biker collided with another vehicle just before 9.15pm.

The rider of the motorbike, a woman in her 20s, has suffered "a serious, potentially life-changing, leg injury."

The ambulance service have said the woman was sedated at the scene and is in a serious condition.

A spokesman said: "We received a call yesterday at 9.03pm to reports of an crash involving a motorcyclist on The Manorway.

"We dispatched a rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer, ambulance crew, and air ambulance from the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) charity.

"Medics treated a woman believed to be in her late teens or early 20s for a serious leg injury and a suspected fractured wrist.

"She was sedated at the scene before being taken to The Royal London Hospital via land ambulance for further care. She is believed to be in a serious condition."

The police have launched an investigation and are appealing to witnesses for help figuring out what happened.

Sergeant Mark Ammon, of the Chigwell Roads Policing Unit, said: “There was a large group of people in The Manorway at the time of the crash and I believe many would have been filming on their mobile phones at the time.

“A large number of people left the scene before we arrived and I am keen to speak to them and I particularly want to speak to anyone who has footage of the collision.

“This crash has resulted in the rider of the motorbike suffering a serious injury and it is important for us to find out how it happened. I urge anyone who has any information to come forward.”
