THURROCK Council has made it’s new mayor at a traditional ceremony at the council offices tonight.
Tunde Ojetola, Conservative councillor for Chafford Hundred is now the new mayor of Thurrock.
He has taken over the role from Cathy Kent, Labour councillor for Grays Thurrock.
Mr Ojetola was deputy mayor of the council.
Tonight’s special ceremony has been attended by various special guests who witnessed the official inauguration of Mr Ojetola.
Members of Thurrock Council took a vote and Mr Ojetold was elected for the role, and councillor Mike Stone has been elected to become Thurrock’s new deputy mayor.
