There are a number of road closures planned throughout June to allow for community events to take place.

On Sunday, June 4, the Thurrock Cycle Marathon will be held. To allow the event to take place safely the following roads will be closed: Blackshots Lane, Stanford Road, Rectory Road, Conways Road, Parkers Farm Road, Church Lane, Fen Lane, Dunnings Lane, St Marys Lane, Clay Tye Road, High Road Orsett and Stifford Clays Road.

The closures will be in place from 9.30am until the event has been completed and will reopen no later than 12.30pm.

On Sunday, June 11, the Orsett Fun Run will take place, meaning that Pound Lane, Orsett between High Road and number 7 Pound Lane will be closed to traffic.

Pound Lane, Malting Lane, Rectory Road, School Lane, Mill Lane, High Road and Fen Lane will be closed from 9am until the event has been completed and all roads will be reopened no later than 1pm.

For the Horndon Feast and Fayre, on Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25 High Road between its junction Orsett Road and Hillcrest Road and Mill Lane will be closed both days between 9am and 5pm.

Thurrock Council apologise for any inconvenience caused.
