Commuters face severe delays this morning due to signalling problems on Greater Anglia lines.

The train company warned passengers this morning that, due to a fault with the signalling system between Southend Victoria and Wickford, all lines are blocked.

Train services running to and from these stations will be suspended between Southend Victoria and Wickford and disruption is expected to last until at least 9am.

A limited rail service is now operating between Shenfield and Wickford and between Wickford and Southminster.

Customers have been directed to use alternative routes including the C2C rail services between Southend Central and Fenchurch Street via Upminster, Barking and West Ham. The journey time is 50 to 60 minutes from Southend Central to Fenchurch Street.

Greater Anglia tickets will be valid on the C2C, TFL Rail, London Overground, London Buses and London Underground services listed above.

Greater Anglia have stated that a limited rail replacement bus service will run between Southend Victoria and Shenfield and between Southminster and Wickford.

A statement on the operator's website states: "Greater Anglia and Network Rail are sorry if your journey has been affected by this disruption."
