A broken down lorry at a busy major interchange is causing severe delays and miles of queuing traffic on the A130 and the A1245.

One lane was blocked on the Fairglen Interchange and traffic was reportedly at a standstill with queues going back as far as Rettendon Common on the south-bound side and Sadlers Farm on the north-bound carriageway.

The lane was reopened at about 9.30am but traffic remains slow in the area.

The queuing traffic is causing delays on all surrounding roads including the A127 and the A13 and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
