TWO more Thurrock GP practices are now rated ‘Good’ by the NHS watchdog, the Care Quality Commissiob.

Dr Devaraja’s and the Neera Medical Centre, both in Stanford-Le-Hope were awarded the second highest rating for GP practices following visits by inspectors from the CQC.

In a report published this week, Dr Devaraja VC & Partner was praised by inspectors for its focus on patient safety, leadership and governance.

The Neera Medical Centre was first inspected in May 2016 and found to be inadequate.

However a follow up inspection, showed it is now rated as ‘good’, following "significant improvements" in patient safety and procedures for prescriptions.

Dr Devaraja, GP said: "The latest inspection report from the CQC is great news for myself, everyone at the practice and most importantly our patients.

"After our inspection in February 2016 which found that we needed to make a number of improvements, we really worked hard to ensure we could bump up our rating.

"We took on board everything inspectors told us and worked tirelessly to meet the standards we and our patients expect.”

“I would like to thank everyone at the practice who worked so hard to achieve this improved rating. I know if we continue to work hard we can do even better for our patients.”

Dr Anand Deshpande, Lead GP at Neera Medical Centre said: “The improved rating from the CQC for our practice highlights the dedication that this practice has to give the very best care possible for patients.

"Back in July 2016, we were all disappointed with the rating of inadequate that we received from our inspection.

"We knew that we had to improve and have managed to completely turn it around in such a short time.

"This is down to all the hard work of everyone at the practice, the help and advice from Thurrock CCG and the support of our wonderful patients. Together I know we can carry on meeting our own high standards.”
