THURROCK Council has annouced a series of temporary road closures in the coming weeks to allow for maintenance and repairs.

The Level Crossing at Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury will be closed to allow Network Rail to replace rails through the level crossing, this will take place from 1am on Sunday, April 23 until 2am on Monday, April 24.

A diversion will be in place via Princess Margaret Road, Muckingford Road, Blue Anchor Land, Church Road and Station Road.

The Purfleet Level Crossing at London Road, Purfleet, will be closed at the following times:

• 0.01am on Saturday 29 April until 4am on Tuesday 2 May

• 0.01am on Sunday 7 May until 4am on Monday 8 May

• 8pm on Saturday 10 June until midday Sunday 11 June

A diversion will be in place via London Road, Tank Hill Road, Arterial Road A1306, Purfleet By-Pass A1090, Stonehouse Corner and London Road.

Grays Wharf Road will be closed to allow Network Rail to carry out rail bridge works.

It will be closed at the following times:

• 0.05am on Sunday 23 April until 6am on Monday 24 April

• 0.05am on Saturday 29 April until 6am on Tuesday 2 May

• 0.05am on Sunday 7 May until 6am on Monday 8 May

A diversion will be in place southbound via London Road, Eastern Way, A126 Hogg Lane, London Road, Orsett Road, Stanley Road, Clarence Road, B189 Derby Road, Sherfield Road and Argent Street. Northbound traffic will be diverted via Argent Street, Sherfield Road, B186 Derby Road, Orsett Road, A126 London Road, Hogg Lane, Eastern Way and London Road.

Fobbing Fobbing Level Crossing will be closed to allow Network Rail to carry out maintenance. The closure will be between midnight on Saturday, May 6 and 8pm on Sunday, May 7.

A diversion will be in place via High Road, Lion Hill, Fobbing Road, B1420 Lampits Hill and Southend Road.

Langdon Hills Old Church Hill in Langdon Hills will be closed to allow for BT cabling and tree cutting from between 9.30am to 3.30pm from Tuesday, May 2 to Thursday, May 4.

A diversion will be in place via Lower Dunton Road, B1007 South Hill and Old Church Hill. Residents will still be able to access their property throughout.
