A MAN who admitted stamping on a child’s head has been spared jail.

Srijin English, 35, of Roche Close, Rochford, assaulted the girl in South Ockendon on December 27.

Southend Magistrates’ Court heard he pulled the child to the floor and stamped on her head. The child then vomited.

The court heard another child was present during the assault.

The offence was aggravated because English had been drinking.

He admitted assault by beating and was handed a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.

English was also told to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
