AN intrepid group of scouts, explorer scouts and adult volunteers from across Thurrock tackled the challenge of walking the entire North Downs Way, from Farnham to Dover.
The 153 miles route took them over steep hills, through woods on their way to the East Kent coast.
The group were not camping on route however, opting instead to stay in a building at Downe Scout Adventures Centre in Orpington each night and being ferried each day by minibus to their start and end points.
Wendy Thomas, one of the volunteers walking with the group, said: “All the young people have done so well. We are all proud of them all. Their behaviour and commitment has been outstanding. Through good and hard times they have always kept going. A big thank you to them for making this such a brilliant event.”
