POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in South Ockendon.

A 55-year-old woman was walking along Laburnum Grove at around 7pm on Sunday, March 5, when she was approached by a dark coloured car heading from Brandon Groves Avenue.

The driver, a man, got out and demanded her belongings. He then patted her pockets but did not take anything. He then got back in the car and sped off towards Mollands Lane.

The victim was uninjured but left shaken.

There were two other men in the car.

The driver is described as being black, of medium build, around 5ft 10in tall. He had big eyes, a round face, thick straight eyebrows and wore a black hooded top.
