A BUSINESS woman has been awarded from a retail entrepreneur thanks to social media.

Sappho Brammer, 43, runs her own jewellery business Sparkling Jewellery London from Little Mollands Farm, Mollands Lane, South Ockendon.

Sappho used twitter to connect with Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis who was impressed with what he saw.

The retail guru leads the ‘Small Business Sunday’ event and invited businesses to put themself forward for awards.

Sapphos award is for top small successful business.

Sappho Brammer said, “We’ve been trading for 12 years purely on the internet and by word of mouth, so it’s great to have support from Theo as it if often assumed by customers that online traders aren’t human.

"Theo has recognised our hard work and helped us spread the word about our products and services.

"We are also very lucky to have had solid business advice from him and entrepreneur and Dragons' Den Deborah Meaden without having to give a percentage of our company away.”

With her business Sappho has catered for some famous clients including Rylan Clark from Stanford-le-Hope and popular comedian Russell Kane.

Ms Brammer added: "I started the business while I was a stay at home mum and wanted something else to do.

"It just grew from there, we do everything in house from designing to making. We have even been supplying clients overseas."
