A MAN was stabbed twice at intu Lakeside Shopping Centre.

The attack took place yesterday evening.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and searched the area.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We received a 999 call at 7.50pm last night to an incident at Lakeside in which a man, thought to be in his 20s, had suffered a chest injury.

"We dispatched an ambulance, ambulance officer and a rapid response vehicle to assist.

“After being given care at the scene by our crews, the patient was taken to hospital in a stable condition.”

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers were called to reports of an altercation at the Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock around 7.45pm yesterday.

"They found a man in his 20s who had two puncture wounds to his lower back.

"His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

"A search of the area was conducted but the suspect was not located.
