THE Volunteer Centre Thurrock is holding a drop-in ‘New you, New Year’ Volunteer Recruitment Fair to help people find volunteering opportunities for 2017.

The event is being held on Thursday January 26, between 11am – 2pm at the Beehive, West Street, Grays. Terri Bryant, interim Volunteer Coordinator said: “Many people will have made their New Year resolutions about finding a job, learning new skills or making a difference to the local community.

“Volunteering can help people to achieve their resolutions and offers so many benefits for people who have spare time on their hands or people who may be retired, unemployed or just feeling isolated and lonely and want to meet new people”.

“If people are unable to attend we would still encourage them to visit the Volunteer Essex website as it is filled will hundreds of opportunities in Thurrock and across Essex.”

“There will be many organisations in attendance to talk to including Essex Police, First Responders, Essex Wildlife Hospital, and Open Door and more. Food Bank will also be there recruiting volunteers and are happy to take donations of non-perishable goods at the event”.
