A Grays-born and bred great-great-grandmother celebrated her 100th year with over 100 family and friends this week.
Daisy Snashall, who has two children, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, said the secret to her long life was looking after her younger sisters.
The centenarian, who lives on Crammavill Street, and has enjoyed knitting and betting on the horses all her life, added it felt “no different” to reach the end of a century of life.
Mrs Snashall said: “After my mother died when I was 12, I was the oldest of five sisters so really I had to raise the little ones and I have continued looking after them ever since.
“There are still two to look after, one being 92 and the other 95!”
