LAKESIDE Shopping Centre has honoured its stores in its seventh annual Retailer Awards.

A variety of the centre’s stores received recognition at a glamourous gala evening last Thursday at the Orsett Hall which was hosted by TV star Jeff Brazier.

This year 1,700 shoppers voted for their favourite shops, restaurants and eateries.

The Disney store came out a clear favourite with customers, scooping four awards for Family Friendly Shop, Friendliest Staff, ‘Wow’ Factor Window Display and the Shop I Can’t Live Without (under 20,000 sq feet).

Other winners included the House of Frazer which won Best Customer Service award, Victoria's Secret as Best Newcomer, and Five Guys, which won the My Favourite Place to Eat award.

Primark also took home a Shop I Can’t Live Without award (for over 20,000 sq feet).

Lakeside’s management team made an ‘intu Superstar’ award to Hotel Chocolat.

A raffle with donated prizes raised £450 for intu Lakeside’s 2016 charity, Brainwave.  Ben Leeson, Marketing Manager at intu Lakeside, said: “The retailer awards were a huge success and we could not be prouder of the stores at our centre.

“The event was the perfect way to thank the retailers and their staff for all that they do for intu Lakeside’s customers and we’re delighted with how well it went.”
