A young man has tragically died after falling from a moving car in South Ockendon, police said today.

Police were called to Humber Avenue following reports a man had fallen from a moving vehicle last Wednesday August 17.

The victim, a 23-year-old man from South Ockendon, received a serious head injury in the incident and was rushed to Queen's Hospital, Romford.

He sadly died at the hospital in the early hours of Wednesday August 24.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which took place last Wednesday August 17 on Humber Avenue at about 6.40pm near the entrance to Dilkes Academy.

Officers from the Essex Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and wish to hear from any witnesses who saw the man fall from the vehicle, a black Vauxhall Astra.
