THE Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham carnival will weave its colourful magic through the town on its 11th outing this weekend.
Dozens of community groups are set to take part in the procession leaving from Park Road in Corringham at 1.30pm on Saturday, August 27.
The colourful convoy will make its way past Corringham town centre towards Branksome Avenue before turning towards Stanford High Street and up to the Mobil Field, Billet Lane.
Waiting there will be a craft fair and Classic Car Show on the Mobil Field these both start at 1.30 p.m. and finish at 5.30 p.m.
Cherie Sargeant, who sits on the carnival’s organising committee, said: “Both our craft fair and car show are well worth a look. We would ask the public to please come along and watch the carnival as it takes a lot of hard work to put these events on!”
The organiser confirmed all money raised this year will be divided between Little Havens Children’s Hospice and The Community First Responders.
This year, the procession will feature majorettes, dancers, Disney characters visiting court floats and vintage buses and fire engines.
The carnival route: Starting at Park Road, Giffords Cross Road, Springhouse Road, Gordon Road, Third Avenue, Branksome Avenue, First Avenue, Dunstable Road, Southend Road, High Street, Church Hill, Corringham Road, Billet Lane and onto the Mobil Field.
