Two level crossings in Purfleet and Stanford-le-Hope are to temporarily close for safety improvements.
The Deep Wharf Level Crossing on London Road, Purfleet and the Stanford-le-Hope level crossing will both close for 24 hours.
The closures will take place from Sunday morning at 1am until Monday morning at 2.50am.
Network Rail said the crossings were closed for essential maintenance works.
Thurrock Council said diversions would be in place for vehicles for the Stanford-le-Hope Level Crossing.
Alternative westbound routes will be London Road, King Street, Southend Road, The Manorway, Stanford Road and London Road.
Alternative route for eastbound vehicles will be London Road, Stanford Road, The Manorway, Southend Road, High Street, Church Hill and London Road.
Deep Wharf Level Crossing, London Road, Purfleet will have ‘no alternative route’ as it is a no-through road.
