RISING star and Gray’s home-grown singer Henrietta Adewole is set to release her third single – Real.
It comes after the 20-year-old, an ex-Grays Convent School pupil, was snapped up by industry dons Rod Stewart and John Newman, after recently graduating from the Academy of Contemporary Music, Guildford.
The “speechless” vocalist, who goes by the stage name Henrietta, told of her excitement following the exposure.
Speaking after the release of her second single, Broken by Love, she explained: “I wanted to release a single to see how people would react to it.
“When I found out over 40,000 people had listened to it in less than two months I was speechless.
“It was about being at the right place at the right time, and making people remember you for the best reasons.
“Having a good work ethic, a positive attitude and being nice to everyone.”
Miss Adewole, fresh from touring with chart-toppers Blonde as a backing vocalist, added the breakthrough has opened numerous doors within the industry.
John Newman invited her to sing with him at the BBC Live Lounge before the duo toured European festival scene.
