Artists rubbed shoulders with the Mayor of Thurrock for the launch of the Thurrock Art Trail last Thursday in Horndon-on-the-Hill.

The festivities kicked off at The Woolmarket, at the start of the trail, which covers 18 venues, including pubs, churches and homes across Thurrock.

Venues this year include the Swan Gallery at Horndon-on-the-Hill and Acme Studios at the Highhouse Production Park in Purfleet.

A spokeswoman for the group said this year’s trail was the “biggest” so far.

Of the launch, she said: “It was excellent, everyone said how nice it was. This year is also our biggest trail so far, this year we stretch all the way across the borough from one end to the other.”

To catch a full list of venues for the trail, which runs from July 9 to 24, visitors can visit www.thurrockarttrail.org.uk and download a free map.
