THIS year’s line-ups for the five stages at the Village Beach festival have officially been announced.

Along with headliner, Electro-dub pioneers, Dreadzone, names making an appearance include Grays Town Band and RE:VERB, a 16-piece pop/rock band.

Highlights at the free, family festival on the Village Beach stage will be trio Figures, whose lead singer George Berry is from Thurrock.

Another stand-out is Chadwell St Mary’s Esther Farinde, bringing her own gospel songs to the stage.

Thames Delta Music will host a vibrant live music stage full of musicians and bands from South Essex on the Thames Delta Stage.

Dorion Quest, from Thames Delta Music and Quest Music Services, said: “What I like about festivals like Village Beach is that they create diversity and bring communities together and offer opportunities for civic pride.

“Festivals create a good general feeling of wellbeing and make places a better place to live.”

The one day festival, funded by Thurrock Council and Arts Council England, takes place on Saturday, July 16 from 11am until 7pm at Grays Beach Riverside Park, Thames Road.
