Hundreds of balloons were launched from Benyon Primary School last month to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday. The fundraising event saw parents and children buy tickets to attach to the balloons – “which they hope will be returned to them.” Head Natalie Sansom said children were “keeping their fingers tightly crossed that their balloon will travel the furthest and their ticket will be returned by the person who finds it. Pupils, staff and governors all agreed that it was really memorable day with many children saying it was the best day of their lives!” Funds raised went towards computers for the new ICT suite.
