A TEAM from Ormiston Park Academy came third in the “Trash Trek Challenge”.
The competition, held at the Ford Dunton Technical Centre, saw the “OPA Warriors” win medals for best teamwork, after making small, controlled Lego robots to move and sort waste across a game board.
The judges said they were “very impressed” with the Year 8 participants.
The project was set up to get young people to explore the management of waste.
Laurence Boulter, teacher and coach, said: “Our students did exceptionally well, particularly as such young contenders.
"It is a global competition for 9-16 year olds, so our young crew did themselves extremely proud.”
