Culver Centre doors are being thrown open to the public next week for Restorative Justice Week.

Restorative Justice has been credited with saving the taxpayer money and giving victims 90% satisfaction rates.

International Restorative Justice week is November 16 to 22 and to mark the occasion the Culver Centre is hosting an awareness raising workshop between noon and 1.30 pm on Thursday November 19.

Ministry of Justice figures show that where victims and offenders meet, victim satisfaction rates are 90 per cent - much better than when restorative justice is not available.

Figures released by the ministry show that for every £1 spent on restorative justice £8 is saved through a reduction in re-offending.

Anyone interested in “restorative justice” can attend the event at Daiglen Drive in South Ockendon. To register, visit http://rjawarenessthurrock.eventbrite.co.uk.

There are also volunteer opportunities for people who would like to train and deliver Restorative Justice in Thurrock – for details, contact restorativejustice@essex.pnn.police.uk
