A WITNESS to a road accident which claimed the life of a young man is being sought by police.
Officers investigating the collision, in which 23-year-old Andrew Richardson was hit by a car on the junction of Victoria Avenue and Harcourt Avenue, are appealing for a particular witness to come forward.
A white man aged about 35, wearing jogging bottoms, got on the number 20 bus at about 7.53pm on Thursday, October 15, and said he witnessed the crash between a male pedestrian and a blue Seat Leon. The bus was a single decker heading for Hullbridge.
Mr Richardson, of Balmoral Road, Westcliff, died at the Royal London Hospital on Saturday, October 17.
A 24-year-old man from Southend was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and was released on bail pending further enquiries until January 17.
