TRAIN operator c2c will run services with more than 60,000 extra seats over the Bank Holiday weekend.

More than 200 individual services across the three days will be doubled in length to eight carriages, including all fast trains between Southend and London, via Basildon.

The operator is also offering its cheap weekend fares throughout the weekend.

On Monday, children aged under 15 can get special discounted tickets for £1 if they are travelling with an adult.

Julian Drury, c2c managing director, said: “The August Bank Holiday is the traditional last great getaway of the summer, so we’re providing extra capacity to make sure there’s room for everyone onboard.

“With our great value fares, the kids-for-a-quid offer on Monday, and discounts for groups who travel together, c2c provides an affordable day out for the whole family.”

So far this year, the number of passengers using c2c at weekends is 27 per cent higher than last year.
