A FAILING Nursery has been taken over by a pre-school ‘dream team’ after being slammed repeatedly by Ofsted.
The unexpected closure of Sweet William Nursery in South Ockendon came after nursery bosses were criticised by Ofsted for the third time in a year.
Sweet William nursery was rated ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted in June and October 2014, when it criticised dirty toilets, dangerous flooring and poor behaviour management, and then got a slightly higher rating of ‘requires improvement’ in June this year.
Owner Freda Jacobson closed the nursery in July and now dream team Sarah Abbott and Nicola Graham have stepped in.
After their Headstart Nursery, in South Ockendon, got ‘requires improvement’ they worked hard to turn it around and are now rated ‘good’.
They will re-open the refurbished nursery in November.
New manager Nicola Graham explained the vision behind expanding the Headstart nursery HQ and the newnursery will be a ‘challenge’.
Nicola said: “We see it as an opportunity. The nursery has got a really bad reputation but we want to build it back up.
“We want to give it a new name, a make-over and turn it around.”
