Hassenbrook Academy welcomed in its results with a 12 per cent rise in pupils getting five or more GCSEs at C+.

The school reported excellent results in individual subject areas, particularly in Mathematics, Science, the Arts, Humanities and Languages.

Head Michelle Bamber said: “We are pleased with this upward trend in results, particularly in light of changes to legislation and government priorities. We have strived to ensure teaching is at its very best and that pupils’ attitudes to learning contribute to their overall successes”.

Several pupils achieved 10 or more GCSE passes at Grade C or above, with particular congratulations going to Michael Doyin-Salau, Reagan Ellmore and Melody Hammond, who achieved the majority of their grades at A* and A.

Michael, 16, stated, “I’m really happy with my results and I am now off to Rugby School to study Physics, Mathematics, History and Economics at A level. I’m aspiring to a career in Management Consultancy”.

Reagan Ellmore, 16, was delighted with her achievements. She said: “I did better than I thought, I’m relieved and pleased, particularly with my Triple Science achievement because I put a lot of work in after school to achieve this with the help of one of my Teachers.” Reagan is off to Palmers College to study A levels in Science and Geography and aspires to a career in Veterinary medicine.

Melody Hammond, Head Girl of Hassenbrook, also achieved over 10 GCSE’s, with the majority of grades at A and A*. “I’m really proud of myself, it shows that hard work does pay off, I’m particularly pleased with my Spanish grade at A* as I am off to college to study languages at A level and am working towards a career in National Relations combined with Spanish”.

Melody expressed her gratitude to the school and her Teachers. “I’ve really enjoyed it here and I’ve done really well”. Reagan agreed: “It’s been great being in a smaller school, I’ve felt like the Teachers really got to know me and help me. I never felt lost”.

Headteacher Michelle Bamber stated, “I am so proud of so many of our pupils who have achieved so much, some of whom have difficult circumstances to contend with. These children have worked really hard and have achieved successes beyond their dreams. Well done to our pupils and staff, our upward journey continues”.
