A TEENAGER had to be rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped in mud up to his thighs.
The 14-year-old boy was rescued by two crews of firefighters from Rayleigh Weir and Leigh Water Rescue following a call at 5.14pm yesterday reporting he had become stuck at Pooles Lane in Hullbridge.
On arrival, crews reported the boy was thigh deep in the mud and, using two plastic rescue paths to spread their weight and avoid becoming stuck themselves, crews pulled him out before 6pm, after which he was left in the care of the ambulance service.
