SOUTH Essex College is offering three new nail courses in partnership with industry experts Nail Harmony UK.

The part-time evening courses will be offered at the College’s new Grays town centre campus and specialise in manicure, nail technology and nail art.

Nail Harmony are the UK distributor of popular USA brand, Gelish, with over 50,000 salons and nail technicians registered to their company.

With lots of celebrity fans and new colour collections coming out every quarter; Gelish is one of the leading soak off gel polishes in the world.

Stelios Kontos, Managing Director of Nail Harmony Essex and Hertfordshire, said: “South Essex College is one of the largest colleges we work with and we are pleased to offer discounted kits and training for their students. We’re happy to be involved with these brand new courses because we recognise the quality of education at the College and are impressed with the facilities made available to students.”

Jan Soar, the UK Head of Education for Nail Harmony, said: “I work with the tutors at the College to provide high quality product training. The addition of these courses means that students leave with their NVQ qualification and Guild accredited certificates using Nail Harmony products.”

Nicki Kelly, Head of Department for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy at the College, said: “These courses are for enthusiastic students who want to make a living in the nail industry. All the courses will be held on a Tuesday evening making it perfect for those wanting to learn a new skill, change career or return to work after having a family.”

A six week manicure course will provide students with all the skills and knowledge they need to offer manicure services to clients, including learning cuticle treatments and hand massages.

The 15 week nail technology course will develop practical skills in providing nail enhancements using either UV gel or acrylic systems.

Finally the five week nail art pathway will teach students how to apply competent nail art designs.
