A PROSTITUTE and two teenagers have been jailed after an east London drug dealer was stabbed to death in Southend.

Anton Levin, 24, from Dagenham, was stabbed to death in a flat in St Ann’s Road, on November 19 last year while his friend, Abdullatif Abdulkadir, also 24, sustained serious injuries.

Danielle Russell, 26, a 16-year old boy from Thurrock and a 17- year-old boy from Basildon were found guilty of Mr Levin’s manslaughter, as well as conspiring to rob him and inflict grievous bodily harm to Mr Abdulkadir, at an earlier hearing.

A fourth man involved in the attack, Abdul Suleiman, 27, who is believed to have inflicted the fatal wounds to Mr Levin, fled the country on a flight to Abu Dhabi the day after the killing and has not been seen since.

Jailing the three at Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday, judge Christopher Ball QC, said: “This crime took place against a backdrop of drug dealing, drug use and general petty criminality in the Southend area.

“Despite two of the defendants’ youth, given the background of this offending and the defendants’ previous offences, I feel they should be sentenced severely and are dangerous offenders.

“Miss Russell lured Mr Levin to her flat in the knowledge she was setting up a robbery.

“The victims were quite simply ambushed by the three knifewielding men.

“The three charges are all part and parcel of the same single enterprise.”

Russell was sentenced to 11- and-a-half years in jail for manslaughter and also received an eight-year sentence for conspiracy to rob and inflict GBH.

Each of the teens received a sentence of ten years and four months for manslaughter, with an additional five years on licence once released.

The 16-year-old got eight years, with four on licence, for conspiracy to inflict GBH, as well as six years and four months, with two years on licence, for conspiracy to rob.

The 17-year-old received eight years and four months, with four years on licence, for conspiracy to commit GBH, and eight years and four months, with three years on licence, for conspiracy to rob.

Speaking after sentencing, Det Ch Insp Simon Werrett, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “This was another unnecessary death linked to gang activity in Essex.

“These defendants have never shown any remorse for the attack and the needless loss of life. I am pleased they have been given lengthy custodial sentences, taking them off the streets of Essex.

“Hopefully, Mr Levin’s family can now move on with their lives.”
