PEDAL-POWERED First World War tanks and Lewis Carroll-inspired stilt walkers will make up two of the moving acts coming to the Village Beach festival this July.
The tank will be rolling past onlookers at the festival before stopping to perform.
Theatre company Festive Road, who perform with the tanks, describe themselves as an outdoor arts company with a carnival flavor. With a cut open side, life inside the Mark One tank is shown to be “busy, noisy and smelly”.
Flying in from India, the Garden of Live Flowers from Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass will also be bringing the classic tale to life.
The Floriferocity Spectacular features stilt walkers, circus acrobats, musicians and poets dressed as living flowers.
Making up the company are the Rajasthani Circus, Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band and the Foundation for Indian Performing Arts.
Village Beach, in conjunction with the Gazette, takes place on Saturday, July 18, at Grays Riverside Beach Park.
