THURROCK Council will invite more than 6,000 tenants across the borough to take part in a housing survey.

It will ask people to comment on topics such as whether their current accommodation is adequate and what they think their future housing requirements will be.

Councillor Lynn Worrall, in charge of housing said: “Over the years we have made clear that we want to make sure Thurrock people have the best possible housing choices.

“It’s not been easy, but with projects like Gloriana and the new homes on Seabrooke Rise, we’re starting to get things moving.”

She added: “The next 12 months will see further developments of this kind, but it is so important that we know what local people believe their needs will be.

“Thurrock Council’s housing team takes no major steps without fully consulting local people and that’s why I would urge anyone who receives a survey to please spare some time to complete it.”

Researchers David Couttie Associates will carry out and analyse the research for the council.
