COMEDIAN Al Murray tweeted a 1,500-strong selfie from his performance at the Cliffs Pavilion on Tuesday.

The Pub Landlord, making a stop on his One Man, One Guvnor tour, used a “selfie-stick” which holds a camera or mobile phone to take a picture of himself standing in front of the audience at the Westcliff venue, which holds 1,630.

The three pictures were posted to Mr Murray’s Twitter account (@almurray) at 10.25pm under the caption “Selfie-end on sea!”

Earlier in the day, Mr Murray posted a photo of himself filling up a kettle in the sink of his room at the Cliffs with the caption “Cliffs Pavilion Southend #sinkvskettle and new kettle takes it,” with his previous kettle presumably being too large to fit under the tap.

The comedian recently ran in South Thanet during the general election, pitching himself against UKIP candidate and party leader Nigel Farage, under the banner of his Free United Kingdom Party (FUKP).

Mr Murray came sixth in the race, with Tory Craig Mackinlay pipping Mr Farage to the post by 2,812 votes.
