POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a service station in Basildon.
Two men are reported to have entered J Toomey on Westmayne at about 1am today armed with a large knife and demanded money from the till.
They then took several bottles of alcohol and some cash from the till before fleeing in the direction of Tesco.
No one was injured but staff were left shaken by the incident.
The suspects are described as white and about 6ft tall Both had their faces covered with white scarves and one suspect was wearing a distinctive red and black motorcycle jacket.
They spoke with local accents.
