POLICE have made a fresh appeal following an armed robbery in Tilbury last month.

Two white men, one armed with a gun and another with a knife, entered Chelmsford Star Co-Op in Calcutta Road, Tilbury, shortly before 7.30pm on Monday, February 23.

Ds Natalia Ross, of Grays CID, said: "When they demanded money from the female cashier, she was very brave and refused to open the till.

"One of the robbers assaulted her, but it was because of her bravery that they only got away with a small amount of money.”

The suspects left on foot in the direction of Quebec Road.

The man carrying the firearm was described as about 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build and aged between 18 and 30.

He wore a white hooded top, black gloves, dark jogging bottoms, black shoes and white material covering his face.

The man holding the knife was described as about 5ft 8ins tall, of large build and aged between 18 and 30.

He wore a black jacket, blue jeans, gloves and a black balaclava.

Anyone with information about either of these robberies is asked to call Ds Ross at Grays CID on 101.
