A TOWN council has launched an online survey to better meet the needs of its residents.

Leigh Town Council, whose authority stretches from Woodfield Park Drive in the east to Hadleigh Country Park in the west, is currently surveying its residents to see what they think of its recent achievements and what they expect in the future.

The questionnaire, compiled by University of Essex intern Francis Anwana, includes questions about the Elm Road community centre, the skate park off Two Tree Island, the recently-opened outdoor gym in Bonchurch Park and annual events over the Christmas season.

The survey also gives residents an opportunity to express any anxieties they have about issues such as parking, crime and housing.

Council leader Richard Herbert said: “We wanted to find out more about the people who live in Leigh and what they think of the services we provide, as well as what services they would like us to provide.

“The reason for that is to help us to focus our work and to hive us ideas for the future so, that end, we’ve taken on an intern from the University of Essex, which is partly grant-funded by Santander bank.”
