Complaints from residents and Ella Vine got the Highways Agency to paint two mini-roundabouts on the top of Corringham Road.

Labour’s candidate for Stanford-le-Hope West took on the action after residents expressed concerns about road safety and children crossing the road on the way to the Hassenbrook Academy.

Ms Vine said: ‘’Residents complained to me last month about these two mini-roundabouts being many months overdue to be painted.

"This is a busy road where many children cross it as pedestrians – this road leads to Hassenbrook Academy, children’s centre and Salvation Army, where many family events take place weekly.

"The roundabouts were almost completely invisible and residents have observed on many occasions how drivers were not noticing them and just passing by as there were no roundabouts.

"I made sure that this important and long-overdue safety issue has been resolved fairly quickly and I was pleased to see them painted."

The mini-roundabouts are situated on the top of Corringham Road, by the DP World port.
