A MANHUNT has begun after two men conducted an armed robbery on a Canvey store.

Police want to hear from anyone with information about an armed robbery which took place at the Co-op Store in Linden Way shortly before 8.45pm yesterday.

A man had entered the store and threatened staff with what appeared to be a pistol before stealing £75 in cash and the till tray.

He then left the shop and was joined by a second man who had been waiting outside.

Both men are then believed to have left the area on foot.

A police search was carried out but the suspects were not found.

The man who threatened staff is described as white, about 6ft tall, of slim build and aged 20 to 25.

He was wearing a grey hooded top, a blue scarf over his face, and a hip-length military style jacket.

The second suspect is described as white, of slim building wearing a dark hooded top, dark trousers, and dark trainers with white laces.
