A MAN will appear at court charged with a string of offences after a policeman was knocked off his motorboke on the A13

Martin Galbraith, 18, of Boscombe Avenue, Grays, will appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court this morning charged with GBH with intent, dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and no insurance.

He is currently in custody.

He was arrested following an incident on Tuesday where an officer flagged down a BMW on the A13 and asked the driver to follow him up the Ferry Lane slip road.

 The vehicle collided with the motorbike and drove away before hitting a wall.

The officer who was knocked to the ground and into the path of an oncoming car escpaed with minor injuries.
