Thurrock home-grown talent Finding Miranda are breaking into 2015 with the launch of their second EP.

The four-piece indie, rock and folk band – formed two and a half years ago - have spent the last year gigging hard round Essex.

They say their song-writing has been sharpened on their second EP, which features a new and ‘more focused’ sound.

The EP called ‘Find Ghost’, features three songs, Karaoke Singers, Whether ‘Tis Nobler and Summer Rain and features some downright catchy indie-pop sure to appeal across the board.

2014 saw the band rocking Stanford Music Festival, T-Fest and Chinerees at Southend, as well as gigs in their ‘home pub’ Traitors’ Gate.

Lead singer Chay said: “Stanford Music Festival was the best. There were hundreds of people there and it was just a fantastic gig to play. The atmosphere was amazing, and we sold a lot of EPs.”

The group formed when they originally met at an Open Mic night held by Thames Delta at the Traitor’s Gate pub in Grays in February 2012.

Chay explained: “We all have different likes, and different influences, from rock and indie to hip-hop, and all of that fuses together to make something new.”

The quartet are formed of lead singer Chay Appleyard, from Grays, lead guitarist Lee Tallon, from Purfleet, Jimmy Sallows - the bassist from Tilbury and drummer Tony Buckley from Purfleet.

With the EP’s release, the band are now looking to be signed up as they prepare for a new set of gigs over 2015.

Catch them on February 6 at the Thameside Theatre or listen to their sound at www.reverbnation.com/findingmiranda. EPs are available to purchase on their facebook page www.facebook.com/findingmiranda or at their gigs.
