THURROCK councillor Aker has hailed DP World London Gateway as a world class business.
Mr Aker, who’s also a prospective parliamentary candidate, praised the facility which he said offers exciting global prospects for both Essex and the country, which could have even bigger potential if Britain left the EU.
Tim Aker, also an MEP for the East of England, said: “DP World London Gateway is an ambitious project which is going to bring jobs to an area that really needs it.
“I was also struck by the commitment of those involved to employ and train local people. They have my full support.
“The project is world class and offers truly global prospects. Of course outside of the European Union, Britain could negotiate its own trade deals with developing economic powerhouses like China and India.
“That I believe would present London Gateway with even bigger opportunities.”
