A POLICE helicopter was called out to Leigh following a reported burglary.
Residents of a house in Glendale Gardens are understood to have called the police at about 11.25pm yesterday after returning home to find their property had been broken into.
A number of residents in the London Road/Pall Mall area of town reported the helicopter in the area on Twitter, with one user Josie Moore (@JosieRoseMoore) tweeting her babies had been woken by the sound of the low-flying aircraft and the spotlight shining in the window.
A police spokesman said: “Police were called at around 11.25pm last night following a report of a burglary at a house on Glendale Gardens in Leigh.
“Officers attended and the police helicopter searched the area for suspects but found no trace.”
