A MAIN road has been closed after a crash between a moving and a stationary car.
The accident happened just after 1pm outside the Esplanade pub on Western Esplanade, Southend, and police have closed the eastbound side of the carriageway.
A woman believed to be in her sixties is understood to have travelling westbound on the other side of the road in a black Toyota Hybrid before performing a u-turn at a break in the reservation but then ploughing into a parked sky blue Renault Laguna just a few yards down the road.
It is not yet known what caused the crash but the woman is understood to be complaining of chest pain after her airbag did not deploy.
Western Esplanade was reopened shortly before 4pm.
